C2O - Mobile
The purpose of my blogging today is to elaborate on how cheap C2O - Mobile is, in promoting sales at the recent IT Show 2006 at Suntec City. Before I begin, let me introduce the company to you.
C2O Mobile Pte Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of C2O Holdings Limited (www.c2oholdings .com), a publicly listed company on the Singapore Exchange (SGX)-Sesdaq.
C2O Mobile is a distributor of mobile enhancement products for leading phone manufacturers. We are ODM (original design manufacturer) of mobile phone wearables (licenced by Nokia and Samsung) and provider of logistic outsource services to SingTel, M1 and Starhub.
In the recent IT Show 2006, C2O Mobile was promoting PDA Handphones manufactured by O2. These O2 phones include the latest O2 Atom, as well as other models such the Xda IIi and the Xda Mini's. Like every other company that is promoting sales at the IT show, they need promoters. Promoters who will attract the attention of buyers, as well as possess the capability of promoting the product to customers. It is a norm that companies will use skimply dressed women to first attract customers. After which, they will promote the product.
C20 Mobile, like any other company, too uses this technique. However, what seperates C2O Mobile from the others, is the fact that they employ UNDER-18s to be clad in tight long sleeved nylon body hugging shirts. It is clear that the purpose of the shirts were more than just to clothe the promoter. Personally, I have no objections to promoters in skimpy outfits. But the thought of a minor being employed, and not being well paid, sickens me. Even the manager of the promoters had the cheek to tell them that the outfits were meant for them to show their assets and poise in pursuit of attracting customers(clearly men). I would like to also mention that men working alongside these girls(in reality), also oggle and use their eyes to pan around the underaged promoters.
Reasons for such an act are obvious. C2O Mobile prefers to use more youthful looking women (UNDER-18s) to be eye-candy for men walking around. This way, C2O Mobile can offer to pay them less than what promoters should be paid, in knowledge that the women employed were all still students. Earning whatever money they can would be dear to them. I certainly feel that women of all ages should be respected. The usage of a teenager's body for business is as shameful as pedophilia.
I hope that the government in Singapore will set up an age limit which only allows women of a suitable age to work as such attractions.
I shall end my article here. I hope you readers would have seen the truth behind such gimmicks in advertisement.
